The analysis on the development of the production and sales of Processing and canning of fruits and vegetables in Bulgaria during the third quarter of 2008 was submitted. The report includes official statistical data about production, import and export of canning products in Bulgaria.
The upward trend of production is even stronger in this quarter. Growth is 7.7% compared to the same period of 2007. Continuing positive trend of the foreign trade in products from the subsector should be pointed out. Import decreases by 3.2%, while export increases by 8.4% in the third quarter of 2008 and as a result the positive foreign trade balance grows 3% compared to the same 3-month period a year earlier. In the quarter, as well as in the first nine months of 2008, the domestic market sales of processed and canned vegetables and juices increase, while sales of processed and canned fruits drop.
